As you know, we love spending time in our kitchen, cooking up a storm and trying out new recipes.

When we spend all day in the kitchen and try out several recipes or are creating a new recipe from scratch, we can often end up with more food than we can handle.

We find that friends and neighbours are always happy to take a chance with our new creations and experiments for dinner that night, but quite often we are still left with many portions of really great meals that will work perfectly for quick and easy lunches or dinners at the end of a long shift so we like to keep some and store them in the freezer.

One problem we face is a shortage of decent usable containers that are tough enough for the freezer as well as microwaveable, which is certainly not the case with those thin plastic take-away containers that some people hang onto and reuse.  We’re all for reusing plastics where possible, but those take-away containers shouldn’t be put in the microwave – what’s leeching out of them when they’re heated up ain’t gonna be good!

One brand that caters really well to containers for storing food well is Tupperware and when we’re browsing for pantry storage containers and organisers we’re always on the lookout for some well sized containers that are suitable for our cook-offs and experimental sessions.

The pantry storage containers are really useful for helping us stay organised in the kitchen and the home in general, which is so important when things are busy.  We also find that if the living and workspace areas are tidy(ish) and uncluttered, then we are all that bit more relaxed about.  As our parents used to say to us as kids, ‘Tidy House, Tidy Mind’.

While there are many similar brands available, there is rarely the diversity and selection of containers and organisers that are  available with Tupperware.

They seem to have thought of a container option for almost every conceivable use and it’s the longevity of the material that we really appreciate – we’re even still using a couple of Tupperware containers from the 70s for storing buttons and sewing items!
